What Would You Say?

Last night during Bible study, there was a question that I wanted to put out there on my blog. I'd love to hear your answers.

(ponder carefully) "Suppose for a moment that you knew you had only a short time to live on this earth. What would you make every effort to be sure that those close to you remember after you are gone?"

Golly, I've been pondering carefully and it's SO difficult to put any profound thoughts in writing. I'm working on it, though. . . . . .

I would want every family member, friend, neighbor, etc. to know that I am in heaven with Jesus, and that my soul is not in the grave. That I will have a new body in heaven, a wonderful place that cannot even be described in human words. A place of peace, and no more pain or suffering. A place where there will be no more tears.

I would want them to know That they will see me again if they want to follow Jesus and make Him their Lord, And the Savior of their souls.

Jesus said; "I am the WAY,the TRUTH, and the LIFE, NO ONE gets to the Father except by ME.

I would also warn them that if they did not accept Jesus as the LORD of their life, the one and only Son of God sent to die and sacrifice his life as a ransome for them, that they are choosing for themeselves where they want to be eternaly. With JESUS the only way to heaven, or without Him.

I would want my family to know that I love them and will miss them until that day.

I recently posted about this on my blog.

I hope this is not to overbearing but I had to go ahead and share what I posted on my blog. This is what I would want people to know.

Just Jesus

"Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved." —Acts 4:12 (NKJV)

It's not a popular message, it's not a politically correct message, but it's a message that must be shared in this day and age: If you don't have Jesus, you aren't going to heaven. The Bible tells us in many places that there is one and only one way to heaven—through faith in Christ. There are no other avenues or options open to humanity. A person is either one hundred percent saved by Jesus or is not saved at all.

Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me." (John 14:6 NKJV)

I know this is bound to rub a lot of people the wrong way because I've found there are many who think they can have heaven without having Jesus. They want the good promises of glory, but they don't want to be bothered by the cross, much less the One who hung and died there for their sins. They don't want to accept Jesus as the only way and are determined to find another path to paradise. But Christ warns that no such path exists and the consequences for not trusting in Him are eternal:

"He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him." (John 3:36 NKJV)

Some will argue that it's extremely narrow-minded of God to provide only one way to heaven. But I believe that in light of mankind's rebellious rejection of God, it's extremely broad-minded for Him to provide us with any way to heaven. We deserved judgment and instead He gave us a way of escape by sending His only begotten Son to die for our sins. Whether someone sees this as narrow or broad, it's true, and we need to maintain the message that the way to heaven is just Jesus.

I agree with Shalom. It's not about us, it's about Jesus. I don't care what people remember about me, so long as through my life/death they've seen our Lord and Savior.
