My four-year old decided she wants to be a snail for the 31st. Does anybody have any ideas on how to make a costume...namely a shell? I can't find any costumes ready-made in the store or online. Thanks in advance for the ideas!

Well, this would be a step below what the previous poster said, but you could do a sandwich board type of shell. Get a ginormous piece of cardboard, paint the front of the shell on one side and the back on the other, and fix it so that Annie can wear it like the people who get to stand out on sidewalks as advertisements for Little Ceasar's or something. And then make a headpiece for the antenna's.
That would be the Janine version, but I'm sure others are much more creative...
Why don't you convince her to be a sailor? :-)
